Our Early of Year Trip To Pisang/Bukit Tinggi

It has been like 2 years ago since we went out for a break, that was at camerons...

Anyway, our journey started at haw ker's place at the Mamak where we were to meet at 8am... all veli punctual...

With us were CH, diana, cat, vicky, johanna & myself... there rest of the member could not join us for some reasons... We REALLY wish that all of you were here!

Then after chomping down our breakie, we journeyed to MRR2 for our first destination... that is Pisang Waterfalls which is known to me of getting lost (no more oledi after 5 times being there! :) )

We forgot that the roads would be jammed pack becos of Thaipusam... hmm... got trapped a little while but with my trusty GPS & CH's human GPS we manage to cut out through some kampung road and took a detour to Gombak...

Journeying through Pisang was not so difficult except for Johanna which came in her flip flops and notoriously known, leeches... Diana collected 5-6 leeches with only 2 bites.. :)

We enjoyed the waterfalls, everyone swam in those chilly waters and the had a natural jacuzzi! Did some snapshots and had our ta pau-ed lunch there before going down.

Travelling about 30 mins along the old road to Bentong to check in Grace Hill lodge, we saw a number of monkeys along d road, begging for food... what a sight! We also saw this huge male monkey like a size of a human, should be the male of ketua kumpulan (head of the tribe).

Reaching Grace Hill, our plan was to wash up and go to the Rabbit farm/French town.... but Cat saw the swimming pool and went beserk & call of us in to swim again...

Cat was like on steriods and was jumping like a monkey from the platforms... She & I did the highest platform that is about 20 over feet into the pool... really an experience, I like freak out 2 times before taking the plunge...

Diana has swimming lessons and Victoria did a mini jump into the deep... Johanna, enjoyed the water as much as the waterfall... Haw ker... lepak-la... and teaching Di....

So after wash up, we headed to the rabbit farm, then saw their quarantine for baby rabbits... Diana & Vicky said they saw those pink babies which CH, said it is not, it was the male rabbit's thing... so the debate continue & I took a picture to come back KL to analyse... but no need-la... Di saw in the rabbit playground similar things on some rabbits... so that confirms it! :)

We head to the Japanese garden and saw this giant centiped and this funny monkey with all white eyes... very relaxing and refreshing and the weather was getting cooler...

Then we head to the French town, walked around & took some snapshots and had a huge BBQ buffet! Food was ok and the sauces were great... plus the bake potatoes... Anyway, we had a lot of food... must be the energy we used up through the day...

So we balik to our lodge and just relaxed and shared about our lifes especially how we came to know Christ and the little dramas in our lifes which we remember so clearly....

All of us too stoned to take out our cards & play any games... :)

Indeed a fulfilling day with all that we had and a good time with friends... these are times to cherish! :)

Makan Makan

It has been indeed a long time since we just chill out and eat...

It finally happened after our busy schedules of life...

Makan at Vicuda, Uptown... It was a light and hearty dinner... we like ordered more dishes nearly after finishing up our main course... Gluttons!!!

I believe we were the loudest there, sharing our interesting times during our early days in school... hmm... can imagine how old we are... talking about baggy pants, rotan (canning) by teachers, and interesting incidences.. :)

A good time and good food (Except the ikan bakar!)

Cheers!

My God

You are My Anchor, My Rock, My Foundation.
I cried out "I'm falling",
You reached out, caught me and held onto me.

You are My Oxygen, My Water, My Food.
Listless, I whispered, "I am weary & faint",
You let me rest in Your shadow and drink from Your fountain.

You are My Saviour, My King, My Friend.
I strayed. Alone... lonely,
You brought me back, embraced me and called me 'beloved'.

These thoughts came to me a few months back during worship as I mulled over who God was to me. I guess I was feeling lost and tired, caught up with life. As worship progressed, those words came running through my head and in that moment I just couldn't help but be in awe of God. Just the thought of His love and grace overwhelmed me. He reminded again that He was right there with me. Nothing could separate me from Him tho sometimes I feel as tho He is far away, unreachable.

Anyway, here's some verses from todays sharing during worship that really spoke to me. I hope it encourages you as well.

Isaiah 40: 25-31

25 “To whom will you compare me?Who is my equal?”
asks the Holy One.
26 Look up into the heavens. Who created all the stars?
He brings them out like an army, one after another,
calling each by its name.
Because of his great power and incomparable strength,
not a single one is missing.
27 O Jacob, how can you say the Lord does not see your troubles?
O Israel, how can you say God ignores your rights?
28 Have you never heard? Have you never understood?
The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth.
He never grows weak or weary.
No one can measure the depths of his understanding.
29 He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.
30 Even youths will become weak and tired,
and young men will fall in exhaustion.
31 But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint.

Old man Haw's Birthday

We had a small birthday celebration for Chun Haw... really shows that we are getting old... no more flour & eggs... (or maybe later ;) )

Had a small makan half cooked by me, the prawns & fried chicken (3/4 sucessful) .

Then we watch project runway while asking God how to raise RM5k for the children's camp while Charlie, was 'slained' on the sofa waiting for some revelation.

At the end we celebrated CH bday and according to him, he had no cake for many years already. Cut and makan and had a good time and also thank God there is a plan to raise the money. Faith and pray is the key with our willing hands...

Old man.... Happy Birthday to you!

Christianity today

It has been a long time since I last use my brain :) I had an opportunity to talk to someone fw days ago and I was surprise that we do see some similiar things happening....

I do feel that Christianity today has became very "personal". Often I hear people talk about "God told me this and that" on something very personal. And we talk about do not judge others and let God himself be the judge.

I do feel this made God to be very personal to everyone in a way that "This is my busines with God. SO you mind your own business and leave this to me and my God."
I'm very disturbed by this. Look at how close are christian among each other? We see each other once a Sunday, trying to talk to hundreds of people with the 2 hours we spent in church. Just enough to say hi and how ar you doing? May be "God bless you" if you have xtra time.

Hm ... is somehting happrning? or just me going astray?
Hahha ... time to rest on Sunday afternoon....

Easter Sunrise Picnic 2007

This year was our first Sunrise Service since I came to CLGC in 2003. It was truly something out of the ordinary. We all managed to get there at 6.00am (including Victor who went to the TTDI park thinking it was there!).

All in all we had a good time remembering Jesus victory over death, playing games with the kids and fellowshipping (fei-lo-shipping, more like it ;) ). Come to think of it, it seems like one of the scenes right out of the bible. Believers sitting together listening to Jesus speak, sharing a meal, enjoing each others company and children playing nearby.

We also celebrated Sam & Victors birthday the Lionzden's way :D. Very mild compared to "ah haw ge's".

L.O.V.E

'Love makes the world go round'. Indeed it does! Almost every song we hear on the radio is about love or love lost. Why is love such a hot topic? Some gave me a curious grin when I unveiled my topic for sharing at LF last week. I too would have reacted the same way. Perhaps our idea of love is somewhat skewered to what the world thinks love is ~romantic love. Love exists in all relationships. Sometimes we forget that because of the emphasis of love within a boy-girl relationship.

So as I was thinking and asking God about it, I was reminded of a Korean drama series I had just watched (for the second time ;p). In it was a little girl who loved her parents, grandparents and a lady who was out to ruin her parents marriage by wooing the father. This little girl loved without condition and bias. She may not have fully understood the strong undercurrents flowing between her parents, the other lady and grandparents, but she simply loved them. That got me thinking about what love is and God pointed me to the ever so familiar verses of 1 Cor. 13:1-7
1If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love,
I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge,
and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames,
but have not love, I gain nothing.
4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
I read these verses again from a child's perspective and realised that it was easier to love like that if we were a child. Not only do we need to have faith like a child, we also need to love like a child. Once we see it through a child's eyes, loving becomes less complex and easier to do.
If we are patient and kind, we are loving. If we are humble and not short-tempered, we are loving. If we always see the best in someone & have faith in them, we are loving. Needless to say, the little girl I mentioned earlier won the hearts of everyone and saved her parents marriage by her simple act of loving them all. However. even if this is not the outcome or happy ending we get from loving our family, friends, colleagues, neighbours and strangers, we still must love. Without love we are nothing! Maybe after we've loved them 'like a child', their hardened hearts will slowlllllyyyy start to melt :)

Fashion of the year

The latest fashion statement by Sam ... wearing underwear outside ;) but after commented by everyone, he decided to cover his obscene part with a short pant. Tada... this is the outcome !!

Happy Birthday Charlie! 25 Jan 07

The original durian cake with a candle!

I was suppose to post this up like 2 weeks ago but was tryin to find the time.

We (Vic, CH, Christine, SL, Dolly, Mei Ay & myself) wanted to surprise Charlie at Water Lily in Puchong... so the plan was all of us meet at IHS old office at 745pm... Mei Ay, is to bring him out for dinner as usual...

So at 745pm we trickled to IHS old office, had tea & coffee with some snacks at Restorant 100... chit chating while waiting for Mei Ay's signal that they are there...

However, Mei Ay also don't know the place... so they went round a few times (by that time Charlie knew something was fishy) Unfortunately, their car broke down somewhere near the place. Victor gave a call to find out how was he doing and estimated they were at Water Lily already...

So we drove there... then a sudden, my phone rang! Charlie was asking where was the place... immediately we drove out of their path and signalled Victor the same... Lo and behold, Victor was in their sight, and to make matters worst, he started his car and just waved at Charlie... :)

Anyhow we still proceed with our plan... CH carried the durian (praying that none of his friends/clients were there) We put a candle on the durian, yes...durian and not durian cake and sang very loudly Happy Birthday from inside Water Lily to the outside...

We might not shock Charlie with our presence but I believe the durian and singing made him surprised!

We had Bali food and with durian dessert! We had a good time indeed!

PS: CH saw his friends there! :)

The 'Hole' Of Us (Part 3)

It is amazing how we got into those holes!

This is actually how it feels to be in those holes!

Before we left the place, we just went around and saw this small slope that we did our roles of the year... and after that, climbed into this monkey bar thing which we struggled entering and going out from it. I remembered when I was young, I used to play on these play 'catching'. Imagine 1 mistake and oooucch! :) I won't describe the details here...

At about 1am we did so called some planning and cleaning up for the coming year of 2007 and noting what we need to pay attention too...

At one moment, i was reminded why can came together... which is to love the Lord with all that we have and to love our neighbours. To some extend, most of us have come to a place of surrender as we see that we can't go on by ourselves, and realise that we really need the Lord... (theoretically, many ppl say that 'we need the Lord', etc... but once you have gone through 'beatings' in your life, saying that statement, understanding it and meaning it, make a whole world of difference...) It brings us to our knees, and knowing that we are nothing but made something in His grace and love... Not deserving but given that royal robes to wear...

Well, I enjoyed myself very much even more so with my brothers, sister, comrades & friends.

Let's walk this exciting journey of life together, knowing that :

Heb 12:1 Therefore since we also are surrounded with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily besets us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Heb 12:2 looking to Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right of the throne of God.

Jumping Towards Our Dreams/Visions... (Part 2)

The 'most ppl jump award' on the flatness ground in the world!

Jump with joy! Victor & Danette!

When we reached to the bungalow, the site with a beautiful one (in my eyes). What I like about it, is because it is so close to nature and it takes away the need to rush here and there or gets things done... a place that is so serene...

Ok, the events that I'm sharing now might not be in sequence as there are some photos that I did not take especially our 'burung hantu' gathering...

After reaching that place, we settled down and look see, look see while a few of us, continue our chat with Mui Cheh...

Then it was dinner... steamboat in Camerons... the weather was chilly and nice. Some of us, hero, normal baju (clothes)... some of us as if it is winter!

Anyway, I'm amazed at what food can do... when time to take the food out from the boiler, even a pin were to drop, you can hear the echoes of it... everyone was so engrossed in the food! Anyway, we did food rationing to avoid and mishaps....

As for the the jumps... after the Rolls of the year... we did some jumps just for fun. Some of us, just could not take the strain and may cause some heart dysfunction... so we only did a few....

Well, the nite before was really wonderful... we worshipped in the cold of the nite... about 1030 onwards till about 1am... We laid down while just enjoying His creation while I was reading a Psalm (i wonder how many ppl were listening)... we shared also about the dreams and vision that God has put in our hearts and we pray that He will continue to lead us and give us strength and grace, whether to walk in the dreams/visions or to receive a fresh/new dreams/visions....

I enjoyed this the most although I think it was about 10-15degrees out there and Diana has to hold her pee for quite some time!

Lord, teach us to walk this life in that understanding and fullness of You... being always God conscious and finding opportunities to share the love You have showered upon us.... Amen...

Lionz Den Advance In Camerons (Part 1)

It is indeed a wonderful experience just chilling out & spending time with each other and in God. More so, there was no rush in doing anything (except eating steamboat- we had to do food rationing)

We started our journey on Wednesday 31 Jan, after lunch, but had another time of eating Baskin Robbins (31% discount)and 1 of us ate KFC. After eating wonderful food & ice-cream we journeyed to Camerons...

The journey was very pleasing, and not so windy for me. Enjoying the scenic view of orang asli home along the way. Nearing our place of accomodation... as usual, i will get lost (always part of my plan). Then Chun Haw called Mui Ceh (Mui Sister). Once she answered, she said in Mandarin or Cantonese... no more place, wrong date... don't come... Hiyoyo... all of us were like... Sam did you book the right date & time... I wondered myself...

Anyhow, the plan was to just go there first. So Chun Haw (CH), after he cooled down... called up Mui Cheh again... ah... this time she was more friendly... dunno why... she told CH, this road, this road, that road, that turning.... don't go (hmm... frus only... CH tried to remember the roads she was telling)

Anyhow, to cut the story short... we reached the place... just I had described it... a small narrow road in the jungle, up the hill...only there is 1 bungalow... The Lutheran's Bungalow....

To be continued... (anyone feel free to write part 2)

Our Typical LF Day

We had our LF today and we were locked out for awhile. The heat of the day was getting to us and we hear a small voice telling.... "it's all in your mind"...

However or whatever we thought the heat stroke whacked Diana & Chun Haw... You see, what hot weather can do for you!

Diana's Demo Kung-Fu Kick

Diana Teaching Chun Haw her kick!

On a more serious note, I did share of in 2 Cor 4, on to know that God is with us. I think that is a great revelation by itself... We may go through tough times but as in Christ, look at us... we are still alive & kicking.

We also note that it is not by our own strength and glory that our lifes overflow but it is Christ in us, The Treasure in these Jars of Clay. As we speak, it is the outflowing of Christ in us, as Paul states it, '... if I boast, let me boast of Christ'

2Co 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us;
2Co 4:8 in every way having been troubled, but not having been hemmed in; having been perplexed, but not utterly at a loss;
2Co 4:9 having been persecuted, but not having been forsaken; having been thrown down, but not having been destroyed;
2Co 4:10 always bearing about the dying of the Lord Jesus in the body, so that the life of Jesus also might be revealed in our body.
2Co 4:11 For we who live are always being delivered to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus might also be revealed in our body.
2Co 4:12 So then death works in us, but life in you.

It is our heart to see His Kingdom come and His will be done as on earth as it is in Heaven... Lord, let our eyes be fixed on You, to know you as God and as Friend and to beat according to your heart... For we know, our lifes here are temporary but your Kingdom is for eternity...

Guys/Gals, lets hear His heart and start beating our drums according to His rhythm..

2Co 4:16 For this cause we do not faint; but though our outward man perishes, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.
2Co 4:17 For the lightness of our present affliction works out for us a far more excellent eternal weight of glory,
2Co 4:18 we not considering the things which are seen, but the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are not lasting, but the things which are not seen are everlasting.

The greatest news of the day, is that someone has come to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour... All heavens & us rejoice in the day!!!

Christmas This Year

I didn't have any plan for Christmas this year...
Didn't think about what present to buy for friends
Didn't think about where to go on Christmas day

But I was glad this year Christmas is good Christmas.... Had a very very very tiny revelation of what Christmas is about... not the Christmas Gift (though it's never a bad idea), not the grand decoration in the street, but bring Jesus to the heart of the people ....

Something to share here ....

Artist: Misty Edwards

This song kept ringing in my mind the whole day through. This isn't the first time a speaker has played this song in church tho. If I remember correctly, it was Pam M. that played it first (but I could be wrong). I thought to myself "this is no coincidence that a speaker thought they should share this song". As I kept singing this song through the day, the words "favourite one" kept repeating itself in my mind.

Surely God must be reminding us all that we are His favourite ones! It must be that we have forgotten how special we are to God that He had to personally send someone a few hundred miles just to remind us of this!. What a wonderful thought just knowing that we are constantly on His mind! What are His thoughts and feelings about us? Just lean close enough to hear His heartbeat and you will know.

Apartments That Leads To?

About 5 hours ago just came back from Lembah Subang, (Malaysia) to do some community work under the project name Soul Action: Urban Mission. It is not about showing that we are better then them or a good feeling helping the poor or marginalised... but again our believe in bringing our love &worship of God in our hearts being put into action...

These ppl that stays in these apartments are just temporary occupants as the Government is going to relocate them to different areas. It is like a holding place. The ppl here are from the lower income group.

Currently, they are alike Nomads just waiting to go to another place...

Where does these apartments lead to next?

Sungai Sendat Waterfall Outing on 21st Oct 2006

Sam, Chun Haw, Victor, Danette, Charlie, Mei Ay & Christine decided to go to Sungai Sendat Waterfall... here is the highlight of the day:

Breakfast@ Kanna Curry House about 8:30 am. But hang on, 8:30 am? hm ... should not be a problem. Kanna Curry House? Hey, it's Deepavali(Indian's New Year) today, "duh" (Victor's normal expression. Anyway, we had dim sum as breaskfast and start our journey about 10 am (I'm not sure).

Our 1st stop was Batu Dam, it's along the way towards Ulu Yam after Batu Caves. We plug some coconuts and bring to the waterfall

Hahahah ... no, we didn't. Anyway, it's quite a nice place to stop by. After Sam has taken enough picture, we move on to our planned destination - Sungai Sendat Waterfall.

The way to Sendat is quite challenging as we have to drive uphill on a rocky, muddy, uneven road. Our drivers are Chun Haw & Sam. Chun Haw and his 4 wheel drive was leading the way, while Sam is struggling with his Waja.

After got lost for a few minutes, we manage to get some direction from the villages there, and we hope we are not too far from it because you won't believe there's a waterfall after you pass the village.

There's a small boy standing in front of his house and just look at us with his innocent look.

And finally, we are at the entrance of Sungai Sendat Waterfall... there's a broken bridge right at the entrance. We just park our cars near by and walk in

We climbed the trees, crossed some rivers, jumped over some cliffs, etc and after 2 hours, finally we reach this beautiful waterfall

Sendat Waterfall Posted by Picasa

Oppss ... so sorry.. the last paragraphy wasn't the truth. Was just trying to make it "sounds" difficult or at least we put in some effort ^_^
In fact, out of all our expectation, there's this beautiful waterfall just 3-5 minutes walk from the entrance. No climbing, trekking is required to reach there.
BUT .... but we did trek up about 15 minutes, adn after everyone got a bite from leecheesssssss, we decided to stay at the waterfall.(though that doesn't stop leecheesssssss from coming to us, it's still better)

*** missing picture of playing waters ... from Sam ***

We left Sendat Waterfall about 2:30pm and had our lunch, very delicious lunch ... until I forgot to take a picture of the food after we ate everything. Hahahaha

A very nice trip and spending time together & know each other more ;)
